| International Groundbreaking Telco Movement
mCentric has entered into a combined effort involving major ISVs (both software and hardware), an important systems integrator, and Fortune 100 companies from France, Finland, Spain, Germany and Portugal to revolutionise Telco service infrastructure, design and delivery.
The alliance’s aim is to construct the foundations of a service-oriented platform based on Java (J2EE, OSGi, JainSlee) by way of an integrated set of open-source components, promising benefits for the entire international community.
Benefits
The coalition expects a large scale adoption of its open-source deliverables by key industry actors, facilitating the development of a fair, user friendly system centred around the mass market, as well as a better positioning for the S4ALL partners for its influence on the evolution of open standards consistent with their business strategy.
IMS Centric
mCentric is especially excited about the headway the project is making on open-source advances in IMS, upon which its own Communities Suite is focused. Its product line's evolution will provide for interoperable Communities Applications and services with IMS Presence, Messaging, Group Management, multimedia and innovative user experience enrichment features.
The S4ALL initiative is part of ITEA 2, or Information Technology for European Advancement. mCentric and its partners in the S4ALL consortium have won funding from MYTIC in its PROFIT program in Spain whose goal is to promote innovative technological development.
